  • On November 8, 2017, FNS approved the Maine Department of Health and Human Services' request for timely household reporting of food loss for the State.  This waiver approval allowed households that suffered power outages due to a severe wind and rain storm to make a request at their local office for replacement of SNAP benefits through November 27, 2017.  These replacement SNAP benefits allowed households to replace food lost as a result of the storm.
