The recently enacted Families First Coronavirus Response Act temporarily and partially suspends the time limit for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) participation in SNAP.

Extending Certification Periods and Adjusting Periodic Reports Due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Blanket Approval

FNS is permitting all interested state agencies to extend certification periods and accordingly adjust periodic report submission dates for ongoing SNAP households who are due for recertification or periodic reporting through June 30, 2020.

SNAP - Nationwide Flexibility for Quality Control Interviews

FNS is allowing SNAP quality control interviews to be conducted by phone and extending certain case review deadlines. USDA is allowing states to conduct telephone interviews instead of face-to face-interviews for SNAP Quality Control purposes in March, April and May 2020. USDA has also offered states an optional 45-day extension on QC case reviews due in April, May and June 2020.
