FDPIR – Changes in Household Composition Resulting from Deployment of Reservists

Military reservists who are called to active duty may be absent from the home for an extended period of time. A reservist who is not living at home, but is residing elsewhere with his/her military unit, would not be considered a part of his/her household for FDPIR purposes.

FDPIR – Eligibility of Native Hawaiians

In accordance with FDPIR regulations at 7 CFR 253.6(b), Native Hawaiian households that move to the mainland and live in an approved service area near the reservation, or in Oklahoma, must contain at least one household member who is recognized as a member of an Indian tribe to be eligible to participate in FDPIR.

Simultaneous Participation in CSFP and other Nutrition Assistance Programs administered by FNS

Per CSFP regulations at 7 CFR 247.19, participants are prohibited from receiving CSFP benefits and WIC benefits at the same time. However, there is no prohibition against simultaneous participation in CSFP and other FNS programs including but not limited to SNAP, TEFAP, and the SFMNP, provided the eligibility requirements for these programs are met.

Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation Fund Payments

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (PL 111-5) created the Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation Fund for certain veterans, or surviving spouses of veterans, who served in the military of the Government of the Commonwealth of the Philippines during World War II. Section 1002(c) of PL 111-5 directs the Secretary of Veteran Affairs to provide one time payments of up to $15,000 to eligible individuals.
