This notice announces the annual adjustments to the national average payment rates for meals and supplements served in child care centers, outside-school-hours care centers, at-risk afterschool care centers, and adult day care centers; the food service payment rates for meals and supplements served in day care homes; and the administrative reimbursement rates for sponsoring organizations of day care homes, to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index.

Food Distribution Program: Value of Donated Foods (July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006)

This notice announces the national average value of donated foods or, where applicable, cash in lieu of donated foods, to be provided in school year 2006 (July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006) for each lunch served by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and for each lunch and supper served by institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Interim Rule: School Food Safety Inspections - Confirmation of Effective Date

Interim Rule: School Food Safety Inspections

This interim rule reflects amendments made by section 111 of the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 which require schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP) to increase the number of food safety inspections from the one inspection currently required to two inspections per year; to post the most recent inspection report in a visible location; and to release a copy of the report to members of the public upon request.

Statutory Changes in the Free and Reduced Price Eligibility Determination Process and Revised Prototype Application Implementation Memo

Russell National School Lunch Act (NSLA) affecting the eligibility determination process for free and reduced price benefits under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and the Special Milk Program for Children.

Direct Certification and Direct Verification for National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs

The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 allows children to be certified as eligible for free meals under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP) based on participation in other programs authorized under the Food Stamp Act of 1977, as amended. No further application by the child’s household is necessary.
