SNAP - Standard Utility Allowance (SUA) Annual Review and Adjustment Waiver for Certain States - Modification and Extension

Due to the impact on SNAP benefits resulting from continuing fluctuations in energy prices, the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is modifying the Standard Utility Allowance (SUA) blanket waiver memorandum of October 14,2010 to allow certain States to extend fiscal year (FY) 2010 SUA amounts through March 31, 2011.

Food Stamp Program: Vehicle and Maximum Excess Shelter Expense Deduction Provisions of PL 106-387

This rule allows State agencies the option to use their Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program vehicle allowance rules rather than the vehicle rules ordinarily used in the Food Stamp Program where doing so will result in a lower attribution of resources to food stamp households.

Department of Defense - Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance for Certain Members of the Armed Forces

Included in the Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2001, signed into law on Oct. 30, 2000, is a provision requiring the Department of Defense (DoD) to pay certain service members and their families a Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA) so they will not have to rely on food stamps to make ends meet.
