Integrated Food Management System (IFMS)

The Integrated Food Management system (IFMS) includes the replacement of the Automated Inventory System (AIS) used in the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR). Long range plans include combining the functions of the food ordering systems Web Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) and Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Order Receipt System (FFAVORS).

FDPIR Food Package Review Work Group

The FDPIR Food Package Review Work Group was formed in 2002 at the request of the National Association of Food Distribution Programs on Indian Reservations (NAFDPIR). The Work Group members are comprised of NAFDPIR officials, representatives from the Indian Tribal Organizations (ITOs) and state agencies that administer FDPIR, federal and Tribal health professionals, commodity procurement specialists from USDA, and FNS regional and national office staff that work with FDPIR. The purpose of the Work Group is to review the FDPIR food package on an ongoing basis, with the goal of revising it to better meet the nutritional needs and food preferences of program participants without significantly increasing overall food package costs.

Policy Memoranda FD-063, Household Eligibility Determinations for Disaster or Emergency Evacuees Residing with a Host Family (dated December 4, 2006), and FD-072, FDPIR Households Displaced During a Disaster (dated February 19, 2008), are cancelled. The guidance provided by these Policy Memoranda has been consolidated and clarified in Policy Memorandum FD-093, Questions and Answers about Disaster Policies and Procedures.
